Anakeesta is a perfect destination for the entire family as it features something for everyone, including an exciting selection of attractions that appeal to kids! This mountaintop theme park is not only home to a thrilling mountain coaster, but several fun activities your children will be talking about long after your vacation to the Smokies is over! Here are 4 fun attractions at Anakeesta your kids will love:
1. Treetop Skywalk
One of the attractions at Anakeesta your kids will love is the Treetop Skywalk, a spectacular series of hanging bridges that literally crosses through the sky! While strolling along the canopy, guests feel completely immersed in nature and experience the unique sensation of what it feels like to be a bird in the trees! This is the longest tree-based skywalk in North America and the hanging bridges are suspended between 50 to 60 feet in the air. Keep an eye on the forest floor because you never know when you might spot a bear or other wildlife!
2. Treeventure Challenge Course
If your kids ever dreamed about having a treehouse, just wait until they get a load of the Treeventure Challenge Course at Anakeesta! This attraction features 3 treehouses and 6 netted bridges, each which offers a different challenge to delight your children! We know kids always have plenty of energy, so they will have a blast swinging, crawling, and sliding their way through 3 levels of play in the interactive treehouses. After climbing to the top to enjoy the beautiful views, your kids can slide back to the bottom level to start the adventure all over again!
3. Rail Runner Mountain Coaster
Experience the thrill of a lifetime aboard the Rail Runner Mountain Coaster, a single rail mountain coaster that is the first of its kind in the USA! This ride is also a bit different from the other mountain coasters in the Smoky Mountains as the jaw dropping downhill run comes first, followed by the scenic uphill climb to the top of the mountain! During this action packed adventure, riders encounter 1,600 feet of downhill twists and turns of speeds reaching 25 miles per hour! The only age restrictions are kids must be at least 7 years old to ride alone, or between the ages of 3 and 7 with a minimum height of 38 inches to ride tandem.
4. Gem Mining
Another one of the attractions at Anakeesta your kids will love is Gem Mining. This is an exciting opportunity to “strike it rich” while searching for a variety of gemstones and fossils! The sluice offers plenty of room for miners to spread out as they find all kinds of treasures to take back home from their Smoky Mountain vacation. The gem mining attraction also features a gorgeous interactive waterfall and is located adjacent to the Treehouse Village Playground area.
